“The FSA’s job, set out in law, is to safeguard public health and protect the interests of consumers in relation to food. Our fundamental mission is food you can trust. The legislation/FSA does not specify what materials are suitable for chopping boards, so it is up to the Food Business Operator to demonstrate satisfactorily that the chopping boards meet the requirements as set out in the regulations. The FSA have guidance documents available to businesses ensuring compliance can be met effectively.”
